FAQs – Lash Extensions & HD Brows

Nouveau Lashes are state of the art semi-permanent lash extensions that give longer, thicker, very natural looking lashes. Applied individually to your own lashes, they give a striking and defined result, but with the emphasis on a natural look.

Lash extensions, when first applied, will last a minimum 2-3 weeks, depending on your own natural lash cycle. However beware of claims that they last 2 months – this includes maintenance top-ups at extra charges which should be carried out when enough lashes have naturally fallen out to warrant a top-up. After 2-3 weeks you can decide to top-up yours to keep them looking thick and lovely.

Lash Extensions

Will they affect my natural lashes?

No, because lash extensions are applied to your own lashes, but not your skin, the lash extension will fall out when your lash naturally falls out anyway. The lashes will not affect the condition of your own lash, as a new one grows to replace the lost one.

Does it hurt?!

No, the procedure is entirely painless. In fact, it is considered to be one of the most relaxing and chilled-out procedures you can have – you just have to lie with your eyes closed!

How long will it take?

It will take about an hour and a half on average to apply in total. If it is your first appointment, Blinkers requests an extra 15 minutes to consult with you and find out what colours, sizes and thicknesses you require.

Can I wear my usual make-up with them?

Yes you can. However be aware that, when removing make-up, you use an oil-based remover, as oil can affect the bonding of the lashes.

What about mascara?

You will probably be so pleased with the effect of your lashes that you will not need any mascara at all! No more smudgy-eyed mornings! If you cannot live without mascara, please avoid waterproof at all costs. Blinkers recommends a water based mascara, which can be purchased on the premises. This mascara is more likely to be used when nearing your top-up time, perhaps.

Can I go swimming with them?

Yes you can! However, please avoid swimming, saunas and steam baths, etc., for the first 48 hours. After that – enjoy!

What about curlers and permed lashes?

You cannot use lash curlers as it will break the Nouveau lash and your own natural lash. You cannot perm lashes once they have Extensions on.

And tinting?

Lashes can be tinted before Extensions are applied – in fact, it is recommended for clients with light coloured lashes. However, please wait at least 48 hours before booking your Lash Extension treatment after tinting has occurred.

Is there anything else I should know about?

Basic care, such as avoiding rubbing your eyes and patting your face dry when washing, will ensure your lashes stay in good shape. Avoid touching with your fingers if you can (which may prove difficult as you will want to stroke them!) as the oils in your fingers can damage the bonding. Remember – oil is your enemy as far as your lashes are concerned.

What does an HD Brow do?

By combining all 7 skills and concentrating on shaping (far more than you will have experienced before), even the most over-plucked and mis-shapen brow can be transformed - and quickly.

What Can I Expect?

An expertly shaped brow to match your facial structure, with a very clean and defined line.

My Brows are so overplucked - how many treatments would I need?

About 2-3 HD Brow treatments (no plucking inbetween!). You will be transformed!

Waxing makes my skin red ..... Mineral foundation will be used to cover the redness, allowing you to go back to work/shop/life without embarrassment!
